Grok 4.7 Is Delayed Again

Elon Musk promised on September 2 that Grok 4.7 would ship "in 10 days," pointing squarely at September 12. Hours before that deadline, xAI announced another delay: the ~2.1-trillion-parameter model supposedly needs "a few more days" of reinforcement-learning tuning.

It is the fourth missed window for the same model. As of launch day, xAI's public docs still list grok-4.6 as the newest version — no model card, no pricing, no API identifier, no benchmark table.

The contrast with the rest of the week is sharp: DeepSeek shipped a new open model, Anthropic pulled in a record valuation talk, and the frontier kept moving. Grok 4.7, meanwhile, remains a countdown without a product.
